Provenance: Former owner: Guido Richard Wagener (1822-1896).
Description: A collection of keyboard pieces which includes a copy of Scarlatti’s Cat’s Fugue (K30).
Title: ‘Sonata p Cimbalo’. A later hand – presumably that of Wagener – added ‘D. Scarlatti Katzenfuge’.
Copyist: The sonata is in a single (professional?) hand throughout. This hand is different from the other hands in the collection.
Comments: Attached at the end of this volume are the thematic indices to Münster 1-5, as well as Johnson 1 (1752). These indices are in the hand of Fortunato Santini, the later owner of the Münster volumes. This suggests that Santini once owned a copy of Johnson 1752, which may have been part of the estate of Antonino Reggio (1725-1780), the original owner of the Münster collection. As far as we know, Santini’s copy of Johnson 1 did not survive.
Date: This collection is dated to the second half of the eighteenth century on RISM.
