Provenance: Fondo Noseda (Gustavo Adolfo Noseda, 1837-1866). Noseda – the son of a wealthy merchant – took advantage of the sale at negligible prices of private collections of printed and manuscript music, and between 1860 and 1865 acquired over 10,000 items (of which approximately 8,000 are manuscripts). The Fondo Noseda was acquired by the Conservatorio “Giuseppe Verdi” di Milano in 1889. For more information on Gustavo Adolfo Noseda, see here (Italian only).
